The incomparable Eagle River is born in the wilderness highland lakes of Labrador's Mealy Mountains. A large and brawling river, the Eagle flows through rugged canyons and seemingly impassable falls for 120 rough and tumble miles before emptying into Sandwich Bay on the Sea of Labrador. The laws of natural selection have lead to the evolution a strain of exceptionally strong salmon capable of mounting this difficult journey to the Highland spawning grounds. Many well-traveled anglers consider the Eagle fish the hardest fighting Atlantic salmon in the world. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Over the 20 years Angler Adventures has booked clients to the Eagle,
we've witnessed a remarkable recovery on this great river. While nearly always producing the highest numbers of
fish per rod day of all the rivers in eastern Canada, the Eagle was predominantly a grilse river, losing a large
percentage of her large multi-sea-winter stock to commercial net operations at the mouth of the river. The massive
buyouts of the commercial nets in the 1990's have allowed the stock to rebalance and rebound and the Eagle now
produces both exceptional catches as well as many large salmon over 20 pounds - some over 30. Goose Bay Outfitters Ltd. has hosted salmon anglers at the famous |

| Lower Eagle River Salmon Camp since 1968. In 2000, long time owners, Peter and Alma Paor sold the camp to Jelle and Mille Terpstra of Goose Bay. Jelle and Millie have upgraded both the lodge facility and the level of service providing a much higher quality of outfitting than in years past. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Main Lodge, Guest Cabins and a Guide Cabin have been totally
rebuilt. Both the Lodge and Cabins rest on the south side of the riverbank and each structure offers a spectacular
view of famous Eagle Falls, below which is the best holding water on the entire river. The Main Lodge houses the lounge, dining and kitchen facilities. This common area is ideal for a jovial review of the days fishing, relaxing by the fire while a wonderful home cooked meal is being prepared for you. The cabins are Duplex style, each with a screened-in porch to seek refuge from the mosquitoes. Each cabin is double occupancy with two twin beds, woodstove and private bathroom. Change over day is Friday. Guests fly into Goose Bay via Air Canada, Provincial Airlines, or Air Labrador on Thursday, and overnight. The following morning, you'll be picked up and driven to the Otter Creek floatplane base for a 45 minute Twin or Turbo |
